Disneyland Paris transfer: private chauffeur vs train vs taxi

The castle at Disneyland Paris under a blue sky

Disneyland Paris is east of the city, and there are three common ways to get there: the train, a taxi or a private chauffeur. None of them is right for everyone. Here is an honest comparison to help you choose.

The train

The RER A line runs from central Paris to Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy, the station at the park's entrance. It is a good option if you are travelling light, have time, and are comfortable with Paris public transport.

  • Strengths: it is a low-cost option, it avoids road traffic, and the station is next to the park.
  • Things to consider: you carry your own luggage, you may need to change lines to reach the RER A, trains can be crowded at busy times, and with small children, buggies or heavy bags the journey is more tiring. If you arrive by plane, you need to get from the airport to the right line first.

A taxi

A taxi gives you a door-to-door ride without any change of transport, and you can usually find one at airports and at taxi ranks in the city.

  • Strengths: flexible, no need to plan ahead, direct.
  • Things to consider: the fare depends on the route, the time and the traffic, so the total is not always clear at the start. Ask about the price and the payment method before you set off. Availability at busy times, and the room for a large family and their luggage, can vary.

A private chauffeur

With a private chauffeur you book in advance and your driver meets you where you choose: the airport arrivals hall, your hotel or your apartment.

  • Strengths: the price is fixed when you book, your chauffeur follows your flight, helps with the luggage, and drives you directly to the park. For families it removes many small decisions, and the car is ready when you are. A Mercedes V-Class fits larger groups and more luggage.
  • Things to consider: it costs more than the train. For one person with a small bag and a lot of time, the train may be the more sensible choice.

Our Disneyland route is 150€ in an E-Class and 170€ in a V-Class. Other routes and options are on the Rates page.

So which one?

  • Travelling light, on a budget, with time: the train.
  • Spontaneous and travelling in a small group: a taxi, after you have checked the price.
  • A family, a larger group, heavy luggage, a late arrival or a tight schedule: a private chauffeur.

Return journey

Do not forget the way back. After a long day, tired children and a crowded station can make the train less appealing. With a chauffeur you can agree the return time and the pick-up place in advance.
